What’s an early memory that shaped how you see or understand fashion today?

One of my earliest fashion memories is going to India every winter break with my parents and shopping for clothes. I remember being surrounded by so many colors, fabrics, and intricate details. That experience made me realize early on that fashion isn’t just about what you wear, it’s connected to culture, identity, and how something makes you feel. And today as I build Meshah, those trips & textiles I’ve ever interacted with play a big role in brand identity.

What is your favorite thing about sharing the beautiful and vibrant aspects of Indian fashion?

My favorite part is seeing people’s awe and admiration for Indian fashion. I love showing people how rich and diverse Indian fashion really is. There’s so much storytelling in every piece. Whether it’s embroidery, fabric, or silhouette. I love being able to bring that into a modern, everyday context and help people see it as both timeless and wearable.

How has your personal style evolved over time? Who or what has been most influential in shaping your approach to fashion and accessories?

I’ve always been drawn to simplicity mixed with statement, cool pieces. But overtime, my style has definitely become more intentional. I used to follow trends more closely, but over time I’ve learned what actually feels like me. Growing up between cultures really influenced that. One of my biggest influences has been my upbringing that Indian maximalist fashion has been very influential in my personal style. Another one would be my moms approach to fashion. Since a very young age and shopping every winter break in India, she's taught me that it is not about the price of a piece. It comes down to how YOU make it yours. She’s a firm believer that you can make a trash bag look high fashion if you carry it with confidence. It's really YOU that makes a piece come to life.

Name a celebrity or influencer that you think is having an “It Girl” moment in fashion right now.

I’d say Zendaya! She’s consistently redefining what it means to be an “It Girl.” Every look feels intentional, bold, and elevated, but still authentic to her. Her personality shines through in everything she wears and there’s an identifiable brand there.

Becoming a content creator in such a saturated market can be tough. How did you manage to reach this level of success while remaining true to yourself?

When it comes to the fashion aspect, I do a lot of research on fashion trends, pieces, styles & bring that research to the screen rather than pulling inspiration from what already exists on the social platforms. This allows me to bring a fresh perspective to the table. And even through this, I share what feels genuine to me and my style.

What advice would you give someone who is struggling to find their signature style?

I always tell people to try out the unexpected & be very open minded to different silhouettes, prints, and colors. You never know what you might find that becomes a part of your signature style.

What’s one word that describes the era your career is in?

Intentional

What’s one accessory that can make or break an outfit?

Jewelry, especially earrings. Choosing the right pieces can really make or break an outfit.

In your opinion, what is the secret ingredient to having longevity as a fashion creator?

I think longevity comes from being willing to take risks, while also allowing yourself to grow and change over time. It’s easy to stay in your comfort zone, but the creators who last are the ones who keep experimenting and pushing themselves, without losing what makes them unique.
