IF THERE’S one person MAKING BRANDING FEEL LESS LIKE BUSINESS JARGON AND MORE LIKE cultural power, IT’S CAMILLE MOORE
The founder and creative force behind her fast-growing agency Third Eye Insights has spent the last decade studying what makes brands unforgettable. In the process, she’s become one herself. From starting her agency while still in undergrad to teaching world-building at institutions like Harvard and Columbia, Camille has built a reputation for being bold, outspoken, and relentlessly committed to becoming the best in the game.
And while her rise may look sudden from the outside, she’s the first to tell you it’s been ten years of sacrifice, discipline, and choosing work over almost everything else. Read about Camille Moore’s journey in her C&C 100 interview below.
When did you decide you wanted to build your own brand instead of going the traditional 9-5 route?
I started my agency in my undergrad. I have had a job since 14 and have been naturally entrepreneurial my whole life. I started my agency to help pay my way through university and the rest is history.
We see you as a rising star who has accomplished so much in a short time—what hard work and sacrifices have you made over the last year that really paid off?
I have had to let go of many friendships and relationships. I have worked my ass off for a decade relentlessly focusing on being #1 in branding. To make it in business it is the largest sacrifice of all. My sacrifices have compounded over 10 years to focus on the business, for the business and in the business. I have not much social life outside of my work—I even married my business partner. The success I've had in the last year is the accumulation of 10 years of hard work. Anyone that says its sacrifices of one year is lying.
Going after what you deserve in life takes confidence and guts. What has helped you build trust in your own instincts as more opportunities come your way?
I have been bold on the internet for half a decade because it's how you stand out and have your tribe find you. Continuing to be me and do the reps daily online is what has built my platform. We are in the age of authenticity, being me is what has made the difference.
What’s been your “I can’t believe this is my life” moment lately?
Being flown to Nike to teach them about world-building. Nike was the first brand I wanted to work my life towards having the opportunity to one day work with. That happened this year and was a huge milestone for me. That and teaching at Harvard and Columbia, I'm on a crazy ride this year!
“The success I've had in the last year is the accumulation of 10 years of hard work. Anyone that says its sacrifices of one year is lying.”
When you’re feeling insecure, afraid, or just not up to the task at hand, what gives you strength to push through anyway?
Good things come from hard work and pushing through what feels uncomfortable. I have felt uncomfortable in business for over a decade, the moment I feel comfortable I know it's time to grow again. I live in a constant state of discomfort.
What’s currently on your vision board (literally or mentally)?
Balancing having kids and running my empire. That and a book deal, praying for my book deal!
Where do you hope to be five years from now?
The #1 person in branding. Full stop.
